The bamboo is much hardier than you would think, it has survived several winters now and some of them have been very cold with temperatures down to minus 22 Celsius (and that is COLD, brrr).

must have been tough in the tall grass (due to constant raining I had not been able to mow the lawn in days.
Every gardener’s pet hate, or just plain hate! This one kept itself outside our garden, for now anyway.
I think it is our duty to try and save anyone in need. This little Bumblebee ended up in some trouble after heavy rains (I think) and sat rather exhausted on a Lobelia flower in our front garden. We picked him/her up and gave some honey…..put him/her on a flowering shrub after a while. Some time later no bumble to bee seen, so what happened next is unclear.
Leisure can be, just sitting on the deck and do nothing but stretching out your feet -:)
This is our Paeony hedge that has just started flowering, it usually does that just around Midsummer. I don’t know exactly which paeony it is since it has been there long before I moved in.
Excitement is when you see the first spring flowers in your garden.
